AutoPOL Unfolder                                                                                                             

 AutoPOL UNfolder provides a perfect conjunction with Alibre® Software to further enhance its capabilities to unfold solid models as well as sheet metal models with AutoPOL's unique comprehensive "Flat Pattern Technology". As models designed in Alibre software can be seamlessly integrated with Unfolder module of AutoPOL to solve simple models with elements like flats and radii to  the most complicated free-form surfaces, cones and tubes, and solid models without fillet radii.
This application is built on the technology developed by FCC Software AB, for generating flat patterns from all kind of single curved models.

Import and Export in AutoPOL Unfolder?
AutoPOL for Windows is based on the ACIS solid modeling kernel and due to that, the SAT format is the core in the system. AutoPOL will also handle STEP, IGES and DXF files. See the table to the right for an overview of import and export possibilities.

IMPORT and EXPORT OPTIONS
ACIS SAT Models in the latest ACIS SAT format are imported in AutoPOL.
STEP The STEP import is included in AutoPOL for Windows. Supported Application Protocols are AP203 and AP214.
IGES For many the IGES import/export is essential.

DXF-Export option

The Flat Pattern is exported as a DXF. Specially tuned settings to suite different machinery and software are included.

What models can be unfolded with AutoPOL Unfolder?

All kinds of single curved models are unfolded by AutoPOL Unfolder for Windows. It does not matter if it is a solid or a surface.

All single-curved models that can be manufactured in press brakes or by rolling utilize AutoPOL Unfolder capabilities. .AutoPOL Unfolder compensates and flattens the model if the complexity increases with conical, elliptical or even NURBS based surfaces (free-form-surfaces). As soon as the AutoPOL Unfolder has done its work, unfolding and correctly compensating the model, the flat pattern can be transferred as  a DXF file to the user’s CAM or NC software for tooling or perhaps to a 2D CAD   system to generate documentation and drawings.

Industries where many products are created in sheet metal include heating & air-conditioning, laboratory & pharmaceutical equipment, process & chemical, food handling, water supply & sewage systems, vehicle and machinery production.
